Generic name: Pitavastatin
Therapeutic class: Statin / Lipid-lowering agent

 Package Contents: 1 box = 30 film-coated tablets (2 mg each)
 Route of Administration: Oral
 Strength: 2 mg pitavastatin per tablet

Indications:

• Treatment of hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol)

• Management of dyslipidemia (abnormal lipid levels)

• Cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with high cholesterol

• Can be used as monotherapy or with other lipid-lowering drugs

Mechanism of Action:

Livazo (Pitavastatin) is a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, commonly known as a statin. It reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver and increases the uptake of LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.

Dosage & Administration:

• Usual adult dose: 2 mg once daily (with or without food)

• Dose may be adjusted based on LDL-C response and patient profile

• Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions

Warnings & Precautions:

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding

• Monitor liver function and creatine kinase (CK) levels periodically

• Avoid excessive alcohol consumption

• Inform your doctor if taking other statins or fibrates

Possible Side Effects:

• Headache, muscle pain, fatigue

• Rare: Liver enzyme elevation, rhabdomyolysis (very rare)
